A Weekend Adventure: Lake George and Whiteface Mountain on Can-Am Spyders

On September 20, 2024, we joined our friends from the Indian Motorcycle Riders Group of Mineola, NY for a long weekend in Lake George, NY. Including Tom and me on our Can-Am Spyders, there were altogether 16 bikes.

We rode about 109 miles to Lake George on Friday. On Saturday, we rode a 164-mile figure 8, stopping for lunch at the Long Horn Restaurant in Lake Luzerne. On Sunday, we rode 200+ miles, up the east side of Lake George to Port Henry and then took Route 6, or Tracy Road, on our way to Whiteface Mountain. Tracy Road is 7.5 miles of 50+ curves and was a fun ride. At Whiteface Mountain, there is a toll. When you get to the parking lot, you can go through a tunnel and take an elevator that goes 17 stories up to the summit. There are spectacular views from the summit.

It was a great weekend. On Monday, we headed east back to NH while our friends headed south back to Long Island. I guess we did about 600 miles of riding. The weather was perfect.
