I just finished this painting. The bald eagle is an iconic symbol of freedom. I loved painting this. Now to make the frame and find a place to hang it!

Nice! I used to do a lot of drawing and painting and though I keep telling myself I will get back to it I never do. It’s a great hobby!

Thanks Allen. I find the painting relaxing. I spend maybe 20 minutes or an hour at most each session. I have a nice setup in a guest room with good lighting. It’s nice to be able to sit down and paint when the mood strikes.
I’m also trying to learn another language. I started with Spanish but have switched over to Esperanto. I’d like to learn them both. That’s another “hobby” that I pick up each day and try and be consistent.

I’ve never heard of Esperanto but I say more power to you!

Esperanto is the world’s most widely spoken constructed international auxiliary language. Created by the Warsaw-based ophthalmologist L. L. Zamenhof in 1887.

Actually, most people haven’t heard of Esperanto. There is a large following around the world of speakers. It’s definitely interesting.

Thank you James! I feel the same when I look at this painting. Soaring high above the mountains. Yeah, I like a longer beard.

I love the dynamic nature of this piece. The warm coloring of the eagle is juxtaposed beautifully with the fresh blue and white of the background; I can feel the freshness, and the wind through my hair. Speaking of hair… that beard is coming along well. Mike!
